SLU AAAC is proud to support students and alumni as they strive for success and make a positive impact on our campus and beyond. We are dedicated to promoting academic advancement, student success, and opportunities for first-generation students and underrepresented communities. As part of this commitment, we award two scholarships each year to support students in achieving their educational goals.

By supporting SLU AAAC, you help strengthen our ability to provide scholarships, create meaningful opportunities for students and alumni, and support initiatives that make a lasting impact on our campus and beyond. Dr. LaVanner S. Brown Award

AAAC Endowed Scholarship

The scholarship was established in memory of Lavanner S. Brown by her colleagues at Southeastern in 2005. Lavanner served as executive director of Southeastern’s TRIO/GEAR UP programs. The scholarship provides financial support to a student who is an active participant in the TRIO/GEAR Up program.

The scholarship was established in 2009 by the African American Alumni Chapter at Southeastern. This scholarship supports a Southeastern student who is committed to strengthening opportunities for first-generation students and underrepresented communities.
